The Fender American Acoustasonic Telecaster is a hybrid acoustic-electric instrument designed to move between fully acoustic tones and traditional electric-style sounds in a single guitar. It features a hollow chambered body with a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides, engineered to enhance acoustic resonance while keeping the instrument lightweight and feedback-resistant.
At its core is Fender’s acoustic engine system, developed in collaboration with Fishman, combining an under-saddle piezo pickup with internal body sensors. This system powers multiple selectable voice pairs accessed through a 3-way selector switch, allowing players to switch between different acoustic body styles, mic’d tonal characteristics, and electric-inspired sounds.
